This rod kit comes with Performance guides offered in "Concept"-style layouts for improved castability and an improved, high grade Titanium Oxide ring. Titanium Oxide allows for a slightly thinner and stronger ring when compared to the Standard guides.

These are great little kits with a very nice lightweight blank, I have built several of these and really enjoy both the feel and durability of these rods.
I built this rod in pink for my daughters 6th birthday, as her first rod. The build was straight forward and the quality was good. Winding checks were not all small enough and one of the grips was already reamed to large for the blank but other than that all parts were as expected and my daughter loves it. Shipping was the biggest frustration as it took nearly 2 weeks for my package to arrive (from Ovido to St Augustine is a 2hr drive so this wasn't a cross country order) and when it did the rod was snapped in half.....thanks USPS. Shawn at customer service took care of it quickly and overnighted me a replacement to ensure I could get the project completed on time. If not for Shawn I would probably have been looking at other suppliers (specifically to avoid dealing with USPS) but he is the one who kept me wanting to work with Mudhole and the next rod shipped FedEx with zero issues.
Built one for my nephew and seemed to have good action and sensitivity easy to work with as well
CRB 5'6" Light Spinning Rod Kit IS561L
This is my first custom rod and it turned out great. Love the action of the blank, but it's more of an ultralight than the light it's advertised as.
Only negative thing I can say about it is even the smallest winding checks included were too small to fit properly. I ended up figuring something out though.
