Individual Serial Numbers

Once they have passed the quality control stage, each MHX blank is assigned an individual serial number. This assures that every MHX rod you build, fish, buy or sell can be tracked throughout it’s life cycle from end to end with no concern about warranty issues.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Each rod blank can be registered online with its individual serial number by either the custom rod builder or the end user of the rod. When registered, the blanks unique serial number identifies that rod blank to registrant. If the registrant sells or gives the rod blank or finished rod to another person, the warranty can be transferred to the new owner – an industry first.

Exactly what I was looking for

The MHX rods seems to be very well made. I've built a few using different blanks and really like their sensitivity and ability to throw baits very well. This last build was a rip-off of the Ninja Tackle Lil Bummy Stick. I went with a 9' steelhead blank and using NGC guide placement it throws light lures with ease and distance.

Perfect steelhead drift fishing rod

I have built a number of steelhead rods on MHX blanks and they are all excellent. I wanted to upgrade an older rod with the specific purpose of drift fishing from the bank. I wanted a 9ft rod that has a fast tip and is as light and sensitive as possible. I paired the ST1083F-MHX blank with a carbon grip, AERO reel seat, LZR medium guides and the end result is the finest steelhead drift fishing rod I have ever used in 35 years of the pursuit!

ST1084-MHX Steelhead blanks

(4) 9’ 2 piece blanks set up for trolling rods. All were straight blanks, good spine. Set up spiral with Fuji Alconite guides and Fuji size 18 spinning reel seats to accommodate line counter reels. Used high density EVA for handles. Nothing fancy but they turned out nice. Won’t know about performance until Spring but should get the job done. To be used for trolling over deep water for suspended bass and walleyes. Customer very satisfied.

Added costs

The import duty on my order cost over 1/3 of the purchase price including postage so i dont rhink i can justify buying more from Mudhole in the future. The final costs are just prohibitive.
